About Us

The Irish Chamber of Commerce, China is a networking and support group for Irish business people living in China and those with an interest in Irish business. The Shanghai branch, formerly the Shanghai Irish Business Forum, was first established in 2005 and provides its members with the chance to further Irish business interests in the Yangtse Delta and an opportunity to meet Irish Government and business leaders that visit the region.

Our membership is made up of both individuals and corporations, and we seek to promote closer business ties between Ireland and China through regular events. The ICCC also represents the Irish business community on a broader level through cooperating with other Irish business groups across the region and close interaction with the various Irish Government bodies operating in Asia. We work closely with other countries Chambers of Commerce and business organisations in China.

The Charter of the Irish Chamber of Commerce, China states the ICCC will work to provide:

• Links for the Irish business community in China to the Chinese community for investment and business opportunities;
• An information platform on Irish government issues/ investment intelligence / trade promotions / business related policies for the Irish business community in China
• Opportunities for the Irish business community in China to meet each other, to share experiences and ideas and to provide business opportunities;
• Links for the Irish business community in China with Irish education alumni and their associations;
• Links to and possible resources for Irish business delegations visiting China seeking business opportunities and contacts;
• A focal point for meetings with incoming business people, Ministers and other Irish representatives
• Links to other relevant business groups in China, including the EU Chamber of Commerce;
• Methods to promote the business interests of its members and to promote the image of Ireland within the local business community
