Privacy Statement

It is the policy of the Irish Chamber of Commerce China (the “ICCC”) to request the following details from applicants for membership to the ICCC (the “Applicant(s)”) and current members of the ICCC (the “Member(s)”): -

 

  1. the full name and address of any Applicant or Member;
  2. the telephone number and/or other contact details of any Applicant or Member; and
  3. the identity card or travel document number of any Applicant or Member; or
  4. (collectively, the “Personal Data”) business registration certificate of the IBF’s corporate Applicants or Members.

It is not compulsory for Applicants or Members to provide the ICCC with the Personal Data or its business registration certificate (as the case may be). However, if an Applicant or Member does not give the Personal Data or business registration certificate (as the case may be) to the ICCC, the ICCC reserves the right to refuse membership to the Applicant or to withdraw membership for the Member. The Applicants or Members may provide the Personal Data or its business registration certificate (as the case may be) to the ICCC by completing the application form of the ICCC, and thereafter furnishing such application form, duly signed and, if applicable, affixed with the company chop, to the ICCC. The ICCC reserves the right to request the Applicant or Member to verify his Personal Data or its business registration certificate (as the case may be) by the presentation of appropriate evidence of the Personal Data or its business registration certificate (as the case may be) in person to the Secretary, for the time being, of the ICCC.

Use of the Personal Data

The Personal Data will be used by the ICCC for the purpose of:-

  1. verifying the identity of the Applicant or Member;
  2. sending the Applicant or Member notifications of future events organised, or supported, by the ICCC;
  3. collating data and preparing reports on the operations of the ICCC;
  4. liaising with organisations or entities with similar objectives to the ICCC;
  5. liaising with Government departments and agencies, whether in China, the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland;
  6. promoting the interests, or otherwise furthering the objectives, of the ICCC; and
  7. other lawful activities of the ICCC.

The Personal Data may be disclosed by the ICCC to:-1. companies, businesses, entities or persons directly concerned in an event organised, or supported, by the ICCC;2. Government departments in China, the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland; and3. organisations and entities that share similar objectives to the ICCC, provided that any such disclosure is necessary or appropriate for a relevant purpose(s) of the ICCC.Access to Personal DataEach of the Applicants or Members has a right to: 1. request access to his Personal Data; 2. correct any errors in his Personal Data; 3. upon payment of a fee, obtain a copy of his Personal Data; and 4. by way of written request, withdraw his consent to the use by the ICCC of his Personal Data. If any of the Applicants or Members has any queries concerning his Personal Data (including requesting access to, or correcting the details of, his Personal Data), the Applicant or Member should contact:-
