  1. I am very keen to work with an Irish company in China. Having completed a BA in Chinese studies and economics along with an MSc in East Asian Development and the Global economy I feel I could help companies with their business within Asia.

    • Hi,

My name’s Andrew Hoban. I’m from Sixmilebridge, Co. Clare. I’ve been living in Shanghai for 18 months studying Chinese. I’m currently HSK level 4 and improving. I’m looking for an opportunity to put what I have learned culturally and linguistically into practice while I continue my studies.

  2. Hello,

I am an engineer (EngD, MEng) who has emigrated to China, currently living in Nanjing with my wife, who is a Chinese national. I am looking for a permanent full-time position in China preferably in the Jiangsu/Shanghai area, though I am available to relocate further within China for the right position, and can travel with work. I would like to gain further experience in project management and coordination, preferably in an international context. Although my background is in Aeronautical and Gas-Turbine engineering I am also very interested in positions in other engineering fields, it is the style of work proposed that I am most attracted to. I am flexible to work in a role that is suitably beneficial for a company considering my skill base. Considering my commitment to staying in China I would ideally like a position that allows for advancement and growth, and allows me to work up. My long-term aim is to move into management.

  3. Hello,

I am currently looking for an opportunity to work in Beijing having moved here with my husband whose job relocated here. I am a qualified chartered accountant. I trained with KPMG, Dublin after which I moved into industry and I gained four years PQE within the retail sector.

I am interested in any position within an Irish or other international company doing business within China. I believe that my experience coupled with the fact I will be living in Beijing for the coming two years may be of benefit to such a business.

I have a keen interest in the retail sector deriving from my recent position at A wear Group. A wear Group is a private equity owned and managed ladies fashion retailer with 43 stores in Ireland and the UK and an online business servicing the international wholesale and retail markets. Here I developed my passion and indeed understanding of the operation of a retail business.

I believe that I possess insightful knowledge and experience of the retail sector that may be beneficial to any company establishing a consumer business in Beijing or China. I would strive to develop essential international commercial skills from working in such a progressive environment.

I am currently completing an intensive chinese language course but I can make myself available for an interview for any opportunity either on a full-time or part-time consultancy basis.

Should anyone wish to contact me, please do so by emailing ainebreen@gmail.com

    Kind Regards,
    Aine

  4. Hi,

I have just recently moved to China from Ireland and I’m working as a Foreign English Teacher in Xiangtan until next June.

Before I left Ireland, I was working full time in Media, in all 3 mediums of TV, Radio and Print. I was mainly working in Television and would have built up a substantial amount of experience to date, in total around 10yrs experience. Although I am enjoying the teaching side of things, since I am here until June, I do not want to stay too long outside of the industry and while I am here, I want to see can I get involved in the TV Network group out here. So I am looking to get in contact with some TV Station / Production Companies to see could they have something for me.
I have a few ideas, all foreign related, but there could be a niche for something like this, maybe in the more smaller local stations.

Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Fiona Ni Cheirin.

  9. Hello and wishing all a very happy New Year!

I am a European Business and Languages (French & German) graduate living in Chengdu for going on 2 years and have recently completed my 2nd semester of fulltime Chinese Language and Cultural Studies at Sichuan University, Chengdu (plan to sit HSK 4 this year).

Acquiring Mandarin language skills I hope will be of great benefit to developing a corporate career here in China. I am particularly interested in international trade am keen to develop a career in logistics, shipping or import/export management.

I am particularly interested in medical technologies (undertook 1st year of an undergraduate BSc. in Diagnostic Radiography as a mature student) and would be delighted to have an opportunity to learn about the manufacturing and export of medical parts and equipment.

All previous positions held throughout the years have generally required high level communication and administration skills such as MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), including my role as a university researcher (Centre for Public Health Research, Brunel University West London), English Language teacher, Customer Service Representative (finance, hospitality and water sectors), EU Co-ordinator (Transatlantic Business Dialogue – conference organising) and EU Trainee in Brussels. As a Master’s student undertaking research, I became familiar and adept with using the multitude of public and subscription electronic databases and e-resources and gained valuable administrative experience editing academic papers.

With a well-developed aptitude for attention to detail, a meticulous and inquisitive nature, I will not disappoint in an administrative role requiring high level responsibility and confidentiality. Having worked, studied and travelled extensively over the years, I would welcome an opportunity to use my diverse skills base in supporting trade and relationships between Ireland and China.

Please send me an email if you would like me to forward my CV, references and copies of degree certificates: ella_tighe@hotmail.com or ella.tighe@gmail.com.

  10. Hi,

My name is Frank Corbett. I am a 30 year old Irish graphic designer from Tipperary, who is creative and imaginative. I have 5 years of experience in Graphic Design and Photography. I am currently working as a Graphic Designer in a Dublin based promotional company. In my role, I use my Photoshop, Illustrator and product photography skills on a daily basis. Meeting tight deadlines and producing quality deliverables is also a key part of my current role.

I would like to work in Shanghai for a few years and I would very much appreciate it if you would consider me for a sponsored job. It does not have to be Graphic Design. I like Work and will think about any job offer.

Email me for a link to my work.

Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you.

    Kind regards,
    Frank Corbett

  11. Hello.

I am looking for an internship opportunity in China from September to December 2012, preferably in a predominantly Mandarin speaking city such as Beijing or Dalian etc. I will graduate in June 2012 with a degree in Mandarin and International Business from D.I.T.

During my studies I spent a year on exchange in Taiwan at NCCU,政治大学, and as such I am already a confident Mandarin speaker.

In mid-June I will travel to Dalian to do a three month intensive language course, after which I hope to achieve relative fluency in the language. I will be returning to Dublin in late December 2012 to commence my postgraduate studies. However, I would really like to gain some valuable work experience prior to returning home. If any internship positions become available for a Mandarin speaking Irish graduate with a background in International Business, please do not hesitate to contact me.

    Kind Regards,
